Your Guide to the Grand Prix

Getting There

By Air

The nearest major airport is Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE), approximately 30 km from Monaco, with a 30-minute drive or train journey. Many international airlines serve Nice, offering convenient connections from major cities worldwide. Alternatively, Geneva and Barcelona airports provide good onward transport options.

Accommodation

Monaco offers a range of accommodation options during Grand Prix season. Five-star hotels in the principality include the Fairmont Monte Carlo, Hôtel de Paris, and Méridien Beach Plaza. Budget-conscious visitors often stay in nearby French towns such as Menton or Cap d'Ail, with easy bus or train connections to Monaco (10–20 minutes).

Local Transport

Train: Regular train services connect Monaco to Nice (5 minutes), Antibes, and Cannes. During race week, special shuttles operate from Nice Airport directly to Monaco.

Bus: Local bus services (Line 1, 2, 5) cover Monaco extensively. A three-day pass is approximately €10.

Taxi & Ride-sharing: Taxis are plentiful but expensive. Ride-sharing apps are not widely available; pre-arranged private transfers are recommended.

Parking

Street parking is extremely limited in Monaco. Most visitors use underground parking facilities (€2–4 per hour). During race week, parking is reserved for residents and official personnel. Visitors are strongly advised not to drive.

Travel Tip: Book transport in advance during Grand Prix week. Hotels and official travel partners can arrange packages including flights, accommodation, and race tickets.
